Linked Tasks, enhancement Request
It is great that linked tasks will be moved forward if one of them will have a later closing date. It would be great if it would work backwards, too. This would save a lot of manual corrections if one task will be closed earlier with affect of the following tasks.
Hello,

Thanks the idea. This feature will be with QuickPlan 6.0.
QuickPlan 6.0 allows the user to select the task link behaviour:
1. Finish to Start behaviour
2. Linked task behaviour – all linked tasks move together.
Best regards,

The behaviour of QuickPlan “Finish to Start” task link is same as the feature of MS project “finish to start” task link, the task link is the constraints to control the relationship of the start date of successor task and the finish date of predecessor task. The video is for QuickPlan 3.0, which just supports “one to one” task link relationship, so it’s possible to “move the linked task together”, but new version needs to support “multiple to one” task link, the “moving together” will cause very stranger moving.
Task link is NOT a feature to help moving linked tasks together, task link is to control the constraints between the finish date of predecessor tasks and the start date of successor tasks: The successor task will only be automatically moved when (for the constraints of “finish to start”)
The end date of predecessor task be changed
And the changed end date of predecessor task is later then the start date of successor task
After changed task duration, if the end date of predecessor task is not later than the start date of successor task, no impact on successor task. Also as QuickPlan supports “multiple to one” task link feature, linked tasks can’t been moved together when move task back forward. Give an example:
Task A : From Jan 2 with duration one day
Task B : From Jan 2 with duration one day
Task C : From Jan 3 with duration one day
And A linked with C ; B linked with CIf we move Task A from Jan 2 to Jan 1, task C can be automatically moved from Jan 3 to Jan 2, but if continue to move task B ...
