    Thank you for the idea.

Keeping links in the copied tasks may cause a logic problem, such as copying a task to be a child of another linked task.

Before sending out the email, the user can change the email content directly. Yes, it’s possible to adding template support to QuickPlan app, but this is really not the key feature, and this feature will increase the app price (compare to other Gantt apps with at/above acceptable level of quality, the price of QuickPlan is less than 1/5 ~ 1/10. And QuickPlan is the best).

We’d like to keep focusing on the key features.

We did spend more efforts to “exclude the predecessor and successor column out from the exporting”. As we thought they are useful on the user interface to help operating, but they are not valuable to be included in the output for visualization purpose.

We tried much for this type of details to make the app be really helpful for the user to do thing right and keep the users be focus – we don’t want just providing the features but …

It will be very helpful to know the purpose and the scenario for your case to include the columns in the PDF file.

We did think that separated apps are better for some users as they pay less if they just need to use the app on one type of device – actually many users paid more for the uniform app if they just need the app on one device, as the total price will be similar.

“QuickPlan for iPhone” is not a simple clone of “QuickPlan for iPad”. The user interface is optimized for the small screen size of the iPhone device – pretty good design for planning on the iPhone efficiently.

The two apps combined are much cheaper than most of the same kind (we mean those apps with acceptable quality), and you know QuickPlan is the best. For QuickPlan, our choice is to develop them as separate apps. Comparing to a uniform app:

    - Smaller app download size
    - Not all apps should be a uniform app.

Sure we plan to combine them together, although the users will pay more !!!

The latest version (10.0) introduces two additional URL fields, you can use it for the way you want, such as a link to the file in Dropbox app.

A complicated topic, would you please help to check following two articles:

We have just released another app which is for Roadmap planning. I’d like to suggest to use the Roadmap app for your short-term activity schedule!

Using Roadmap app, we have created an example for the agenda of WWDC (Apple Worldwide Developers Conference) 2018, please check out the details at https://roadmapgo.com/documents/examples.

Download the Roadmap apps at https://roadmapgo.com/getapps

    @rosshut10

Our preferred and our practices are using Kanban (or other similar tools, such as the famous app Trello) to manage the short-term activities. And using the approach, the project schedule is the input of the Kanban. Also there are many todo apps which supports online collaboration, we can also using the todo apps to manage short-term activities with the team, and collect the task execution status feedback, then the PM take actions to update the project schedule.

it's possible that add a simple task list feature to QuickPlan. As there are many other apps ready for short-term activities management, and QuickPlan is focusing on project schedule.

Estimate? I think you mean "WORK" or "COST", there is no problem to input task work as 1 hour.

(to let the member be flexible, for a task with one hour of work, we can define the task as "to be completed in one DAY with one HOUR efforts"

    Hi all,

For the design consideration, please check out the article "about task duration" in the best practices at http://www.quickplan.xyz/documents/best-practices/

    And:
    - Cost be impacted by resource, resource allocation rate, and duration. One task with 1 hour duration which be assigned to a resource == One task with 1 day duration which be assigned to a resource by 1/8 efforts

    - Thinking if we are working for a schedule, or just a document

    - Really are working for project schedule, or agenda, or todo

    - For agenda, please download iAgenda app which is free not

QuickPlan shows one row in the outline (list) panel and the chart panel. Multiple tasks in one taskbar will cause the information in the outline row to be in a mess (for example to show the %comp, or cost …)

We’d like to suggest if you can organize the repeated tasks in a sub-project, so it can just show as one task in the major project.

It’s a big challenge for the users (and the app) to print the project schedule with unlimited natural size (no limited on horizontal and vertical direction) to a limited size of paper, directly printing will get unsatisfied result as lack of options to adjust the output.

If the project duration is long or there are many tasks, there is no way for the computer the scale the content in a limited size of PDF page, for printing with good quality as the printer DPI is also limited. If the hardware or the nature of the project size is not good to be in one page, even a human will has no way to do it (also the AI and the computer have no way to do it)

So QuickPlan provides PDF exporting functions for the users to adjust exporting options for better printing result. Please just export project schedule as PDF and then to print the PDF file.

For more details about printing challenge, would you please help to check it at http://www.quickplan.xyz/documents/quickplan-for-mac/quickstart/quickstart6/ ?

From QuickPlan 6.0, there is a new column “to be %” which is used to show the “to be complete rate”, you can just compare it with the actual “% complete” for the purpose.

    Hello,

QuickPlan supports to show task in LIST style, with pre-config filtering of later tasks.
Please check out the details at http://www.quickplan.xyz/documents/quickplan-for-ios/releasenotes/quickplanhd80/

    ---------
AND, it's a complicated topic about why there is no something to set the task be delay status:

********** Project schedule is NOT project TODO ***********
Project schedule should reflect reality, that means if tasks be later, the tasks should be rescheduled. (if a task is later, the team should communicate about the task, and reschedule it, to make the task executable)

That means if project schedule be tracked well (of cause, for a project, we need to track project well), there is no active task which is delay

*********** Some users are using QuickPlan to maintain TODO tasks ***********
Yes QuickPlan does better than many other todo apps even for maintaining todo tasks, but QuickPlan the major design purpose is for project schedule. We may do something to make QuickPlan be better for todo if it will not impact the major purpose of project schedule

    ********* Think ************
Some users may need a GANTT APP for TODO tasks, but there is not any good one for it.

This functionality is only ready for macOS edition now. (the FREE trial is ready at http://quickplan.xyz/trial, please try it for a temp solution if not plan to purchase it)

And it will be ready with next iPad version this year.

(We have released 20+ version of QuickPlan for iPad in the last years, I'd like not to release new versions too frequently for the iOS edition if no more big enhancements, as the app is very complicated now, a new version will cost much, but we did not charge the users again)

    About hide/show tasks option:
This will cause logic problem, for example if hide a task, the users will be confused for strange task link display and task group display.

    Thank you for the idea.

Locking specific tasks will cause logic problems.

    - If one task in a group is locked, when move task group (change group task start date), logic issue
    - If tasks are linked, but one is locked, when move predecessor task, logic issue
    - If to change the start date of the whole project, what will happen

The project schedule is NOT todo tasks (https://goplan.app/questions/general/project-schedule). Project schedule should guide the team how to execute (when, who, depends, cost …), AND the project schedule should reflect the reality of the project, that means if the tasks schedule to be completed before today, but not completed before today, the project schedule should be rescheduled, that means all the tasks planned to be completed before today should be completed.
