Automatic task span of weekend & non working days
Based on task duration, without this rearranging breaks easily. Otherwise love this app, best interface by far.
Hello,
QuickPlan 8.0 is at testing phase, with a new feature to “skip non-working days” when layout task.

Must be implemented, otherwise makes no sense: working days of a task cannot change when moving, its a constant. Total duration of a task will change if there are non working days in middle

Hi all,
QuickPlan for MAC beta now supports to customize project schedule policy, we can specify if the project task can only be scheduled at working-day, also the working days will be kept same when moving.

This feature for iOS edition is at planning phase

Hi, it would be good if I have the task of 3 working days and shift it over the weekend, automatically maintaining a length of 3 working days it is stretched to 5 days - 3 working dat and weekend (as it does XPlane)

QuickPlan supports to display task duration as
- Duration - includes working and non-working days
- Working days - working days only
By default, QuickPlan display the two options.QuickPlan provides options to use to just display working days, would you please help to just tap on the “duration” title in the outline view, and then switch the option.

I have the same problem with working/not working days. Thought that was automatic... Is there any other better PM app?

Not having automatic adjustment of tasks that span a weekend makes amendment and adjustment of a programme a massive job and not what would be expected, please get a fix

It would be best to have a way to set the option to span the task or not on individual basis not by a project in its entirety. Sometimes weekend work is necessary and sometimes it is not. Flexibility is needed on the spanning option.

100% agree with anonymous on 7/2914 that task duration should span non-working days.

I just walked into this problem big time:
Problem 1:
While planning my project. I had a 3 day task that started Friday, 1 days is covered on Friday, I would have expected the remaining 2 days to span across to the following Monday & Tuesday instead the Task finished on that Sunday with Work effort = 8 hours.Non working days cannot be included in the Task work effort as it paints a false picture of when the project will finish.
Problem 2:
I also noticed I have several 1d tasks allocated to a resources that when moved due to links I have setup they ended up landing on a sat/sun. The effort (Work) to complete the task was automatically set to 0 which stuffed up my resource plan.Business Rule:
Non working time should be spanned by a task. Task will AUTOMATICALLY stretch the necessary amount of time to cover the days that are non working which it crosses over.i.e. 3d task starting Friday 3rd crossing over 2 non working days (sat/sun) should complete on Tuesday 7th
I really love this app and am using it more and more every day but some of these key functions need to be fixed to make the use of the app more streamlined.
I am happy to prove screen shots of the problem for clarification.
I look forward to the update.Regards

I just stepped on this issue. In one of my projects I can only work weekends. With a task that takes 4 working days I would expect the task to be split or stretched across two weekends, however, this is not yet reflected in the app. It will only show me that duration is 4 days or 2 working days, respectively.
Please implement! :-)
Many thanks and best regards
Sebastian
